ICR's Pichkari Blog Hop

Hi All..Happy Holi and welcome to Pichkari Holi Blog Hop by ICR Team. You can start at ICR Forum and get all the deets on the Blog Hop.
Holi is also called the Spring Festival - as it marks the arrival of spring the season of hope and joy. The gloom of the winter goes as Holi promises of bright summer days. Nature too, it seems rejoices at the arrival of Holi and wears its best clothes. Fields get filled with crops promising a good harvest to the farmers and flowers bloom colouring the surroundings and filling fragrance in the air.
Holi is the festival of colours and it is so much fun celebrate with family and friends. It is fun to see people running around with pichkaris to get their friends drenched in colours.

I wanted to create something fun for Holi...Something cheerful and since spring is here I have been wanting to create something with flowers ..so I decided to make a flower pot card with some punched flowers.I used ICR's Holi Digis which Gopi had created and they are so appropriate for Holi.
You can find these on ICR under the icr-freebies-add-ons tab.
If you are here from Smita's blog then you are on the right path. If not, you can go to the ICR Forum and start from there.

Winter Woods

I made this card for the second round of design team inspiration post this month on Indian Craft Room.As you all know it is Repeated Stamping with  the twist being One Layer Card(ICRC27).I enjoyed this challenge because of its simplicity.I love doing projects where we do not need to add many layers. For this card I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads Faded Jeans for the sky and Wild honey  to do the background. For the woods I used the stamp from rubber stampede "Winter Woods".I did a few cards before I realized that I had to get the horizon in the background to give the feeling of distance.Hope you all like it.

Clean and Simple

Clean and Simple cards have so many interpretations. Here is my take on the challenge of 4craftychicks. The challenge was to create a CAS card with minimal use of embellishments and layers. The design team cards did show layers so I used layering on my card too.Usually  for a CAS card the requirement is to show as much white as possible so I decided that the first layer should have nothing on it except the twine.I traced the heart and cut it out on the first layer and added some dimensionals to make it pop up.As you all know Washi tape is awesome to work with so I decided to use it under the layer. For some texture embossed my card with cuttlebug.Playing along at...

Love you sew much

I created this card as inspiration for ICR's freebies. Yes,you heard me right FREEBIES and believe me they are awesome.I am having so much fun coming up with the cards. These freebies are in appreciation for all the participation we had during the anniversary celebrations at Indian Craft Room.
To make my card I used the I love you sew much digi...Since the digi had the faux stiching I took out my sewing machine and did some real stitching on the black card stock. For the heart diecut I used my cricut. I loved using band aids in this card as embellishments.
Please do visit us there so that you can download these images. Here is a little sneak peak...

Thinking of You

Hi all.... I have wanted to use Cuddlebugcuties on my cards for a long time.I love all of Anna Stillwell's Digis. She does a fabulous job in creating them. With so many challenges with green going on I wanted to create something today  and when I saw this digi on cuddlebug cuties I decided to use Celeste.I have used Tim holtz distress inks to color her.The roses are Patty Gorka's technique. She had used a flower punch but I did not have that punch so I used my cricut to cut out the flower shapes. The small flowers are from my stash and I used sizzix branches with leaf die which I had some left over from one of my previous projects. Hope you all like it and as always appreciate all your comments.

Cherry Blossoms

I am still on a stamping roll.. as well as a shopping spree:) I went and bought some Washi Tapes and a lot of new stamps this week so I decided to try them out.I Stamped the Cherry Blossom from rubber stampede on white cardstock  from recollections. For getting the blue sky effect I used the Tim Holtz Distress ink stamp pad Faded Jeans and for the cherry blossom I used Tim Holtz Distress ink stamp pad Tea dye.For the blooms I used water colors.I wanted to make this a one layer card for ICR's March Challenge  but I couldn't resist adding the washi tape, button and gemstones so its no longer a one layer card but somehow I felt the card needed it and I am happy with how it turned out.Playing along at:

Repeated Stamping

Its the beginning of a new month and it also means its time for a new challenge at ICR(ICRC27).This month the theme is to do a ONE LAYER CARD + REPEATED STAMPING!...Isn't that awesome.
Basically One Layer Card means it should just be a base card... you cannot have any layers on it.
I know many of you who are stampers will love this challenge. For some it might be difficult to keep the card one layer if they love to add embellishments.Since it is a one layer we cannot add any. No additional card stock for sentiments or any thing else.Texture can be added on the card base by doing Embossing (Wet or dry), piercing holes in the card base etc.I played with my stamps and this is what I came up with for the design team inspiration.

I took a square stamp with a little design on it and stamped it like a patchwork design  and added a scroll stamp  and used watercolors on the butterfly.
Hope you all like it and would love to hear your comments.

Triple Time Stamping Tutorial

Hi All… Hope all of you are ready to do some fun stuff today. We are going to learn how to do Triple Time Stamping .Does it sound complicated…It might but I assure you it’s not…Its so much fun once you get the hang of it. It’s really simple to do just make sure your measurements are right and your layering is perfect…rest all is easy.
      Things you need on hand:
  • ·                     2 sheets of cardstock .
  • ·                A big stamp…This technique will not show if you use small stamps.
  • ·                     Ink Pad…I have used Versamark black stamp pad
  • ·                    Glue or tape
  • ·               Sticky dots for Dimension(Not required if you just want to glue the layers)
  •              Paper Trimmer
·
 Measurements:
You will cut total 6 pieces including base card:
·        Layer 1 Black base card: 5 ½”*8 ½” fold it in half. So you will have 5 ½”*4 ¼”
·        Layer 2    Black   4 ½”*3 ¼”
·        Layer 3    Black   3 ½”*2 ¼”
·        Layer 1    White  5 ¼*4 "
·        Layer 2    White  4 ¼”*3”
·        Layer 3    White  3 ¼* 2”

Just Layer them and see if you got everything right .Do not stick anything yet. I am showing it so that you know how it is supposed to look.

Layer all the whites. Be careful and align them correctly because if you mess up here your images will not match. It’s a good idea to use a little bit of sticky tape to the center of the pieces so that they don’t move. Please do not use so much that they will not even come apart later.

Once you stamp your image on all the three layers at the same time, mount them on the black cardstock and you are ready to layer them. You can use sticky dots to layer them if you want to give dimension otherwise glue will work just fine.

And Your card is Ready:)

Hope you all enjoyed my tutorial. Would love to hear your comments. I saw this technique on Stampin with Donna and wanted to share with you all so I wrote this tutorial.Hope you all liked it.
